Summary
A stuffed roe deer head on an oak shield-shaped mount. The head is alert and upright, turned slightly to the right. The deer has small antlers with three prongs. An inscription on a separate plaque for CAL/TX/108 reads, 'My first three roe deer/Melcome Horsey/Dorsetshire/February 6th 1894/V.H. Crewe.'
Provenance
Transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
