Summary

Machine woven wool rug with a thick tufted pile. Small central area with a crimson ground, a stylised overall pattern in shades of blue and green. Wide border composed of several bands, a blue ground band with a sinuous red pattern near the outer edge. Outside worn, centre less worn. Two ends fringed.

Provenance

Transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
