Summary
Quilted bedspread, embroidered with yellow silk with brown and red silk details. The edge is fringed and has a border of large yellow flowers. The sides have embroidered quatrefoils and loop design as groundwork to foliage and in the corner panels are an owl and a cockerel, both in red against an oak branch (the owl) and foliage with a sun (the cock) the centre is embroidered with yellow flowers with red centres. The ivory-coloured ground has a damask pattern on the quilted reverse. Initials 'G.I.C.' in one corner. Mid 19th Century.
