Summary
B728 A striped bright green silk dress with purple velvet trimmings. Circa 1825. White silk lining. Wide leg of mutton sleeves with velvet cuffs. Full skirt bunched at the back to form a small bustle. A belt which fastens at the front has a small bow at the back. The dress fastens down the front. All edges are bordered with velvet trimmings with jagged edges. This trim forms a tippet around the shoulders. Velvet bows sewn at intervals down the front. A label sewn inside reads, 'Black and green dress belonging to Mrs Stables of Hemsworth, nr Coltra'.
