Summary
Black dress hat which belonged to Sir Vauncey Harpur Crewe which formed part of his dress uniform. The hat is made of smooth rabbit fur with a panel of oak design embroidery in silver thread on one side. There is a Gilt metal decoration at points on each end and the hat is of inverted boat shape with an open crown. Manufactured by 'Hawkes and Co' with a gilt on maroon silk mark inside. BN12
Provenance
Transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
