Summary
Dress uniform of Vauncey Harpur Crewe (in a metal case CAL/M/109). Label inscribed; 'V.H. Crewe Esq./Deputy Lieut/ Scarlet dress coat dress trousers cocker hat sword a plume pr boots pr spurs parcel of shirts in case 21/2/76' a) Scarlet jacket with embossed silver metal buttons, black collar and cuffs heavily embroidered in silver thread with oak design. There are also two giltmetal thread embroidered rosettes on the collar. The oak design includes penunculate acorns. White satin lining quilted at the top. Centre back, skirt of jacket has oak design embroidery, white trimming and silver buttons. Buttons have coronets in the centre within a bay wreath.
Provenance
Transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
