Summary
Silver mounted ostrich egg supported on three boar's tusks, another three tusks projecting up from the base. A round silver knob finial has two small tusks projecting either side. A silver rim runs around between the top and bottom of the egg. Both the rim and silver band around the base are hallmarked (London). An inscription is engraved; 'Richard Fynderne Harpur Crewe/From his great uncle and godfather/Richard Harpur Crewe May 29th 1880'. Ovoid base with a red velvet cover, gilt moulded edge, on four gilt round feet, with a glass dome.
