Summary
A collection of late 19th Century photographs, of many different sizes and subjects. All unmounted and most of them are rolled up. Probably by both amateurs and professionals. Some are souvenirs of places. The majority have been collected by Sir Vauncey or Richard Harpur Crewe. The collection includes; A set of photographs of Liverpool in a package sent to Sir Vauncey. A set of photographs of birds, some souvenir photos of the Paris Exhibition of 1880. There are also pictures of ships, yachts, European cities with their churches and other buildings, churches and buildings in Britain, Irish villages, climbing expeditions and views of the countryside around Britain.
Provenance
Transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
