Summary
Large 'lozenge' shaped funeral hatchment depicting the arms of Crewe, Harpur, Lovell and Badcock in oil paint on canvas, possibly lined. Wooden frame painted black, with a gilded sight edge. For Sir John Harpur Crewe, 9th Baronet, who married Georgiana Jane Henrietta Eliza, daughter of Vice-Admiral W. Stanhope-Lovel,l in 1845 and who died 1st March 1886. She died 28th May 1910.

Large 'lozenge' shaped funeral hatchment depicting the arms of Crewe, Harpur, Lovell and Badcock in oil paint on canvas, possibly lined. Wooden frame painted black, with a gilded sight edge. Described in Hatchments in Britain, volume 8, p.31: Dexter background black. Qly, 1st and 4th, Azure a lion rampant argent (Crewe), 2nd and 3rd, Argent a lion rampant within a bordure engrailed sable (Harpur), with Badge of Ulster, Qly, 1st and 4th, Or three bars nebuly gules (Lovell), 2nd and 3rd, Argent three cocks in pale gules between two flaunches sable (Badcock). Crests: Dexter, from a ducal coronet or a lion's gamb erect. Centre: from an Eastern crown a cross or. Sinister, a boar passant proper. Mantling: Azure and argent. Motto: Resurgam (I shall arise). Black painted wooden frame with gilded sight edge. For Sir John Harpur Crewe, 9th Baronet, who married Georgiana Jane Henrietta Eliza, daughter of Vice-Admiral W.
