Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Sir George Crewe, 8th Bt. (1795 – 1844) as a Child, British (English) School, c.1803. Oval. Three-quarter-length portrait of a boy in profile to left. He wears a dark blue jacket, cream breeches and light blue gloves. His dark hair is combed forwards and he is shown against a vague landscape. Inscribed note in case; 'Aged 8 - George Harpur/afterwards Sir George Crewe/8th Bart/Painted for his/grandmother/Lady Frances Harpur.'
