Summary
A softwood butterfly box made with a hinged lid, the lid being the same depth as the base. The lid fits tightly over a lip and is fastened with two hook fastenings. The rounded corners have mortice and tenon joins. All the boxes are similar (CAL/N/101-N/178) Inscribed in pencil on the lid 'Papthilia shut(?) 1912'. The box contains a selection of Bees and Butterflies
