Summary
Flutina (Accordion) unsigned, possibly French, mid -19th century. The case appears to be of mahogany(?). It is undecorated except for a boxwood stringer on the keyboard side. The projection housing the keys is ebonised and through the (?)brass handle below has been looped a length of cream- and green-coloured ribbon. The bellows are covered in green, gold-patterned paper and edged in what is now predominantly a pinkish, buff-coloured braided ribbon. At each corner of the back of the instrument is a flat, circular ‘foot’ of mother-of-pearl. There are white numerals from 1 to 7 alongside the keys.
