Summary
A set of three gold dress studs made around 1860. Each stud is mounted with a coral bead set with a small diamond in a gold knot work frame. The set is presented in a fitted case by Abud & Collingwood.

This set was present at Calke Abbey by 1886, when it was described in the inventory of the family jewel case as a 'small set of coral studs' (Derbyshire Record Office, D22375/H/F/2/27).
Provenance
Set sold by Abud & Collingwood around 1860 and present at Calke Abbey by 1886, when it was described in the inventory of the family jewel case as a ‘small set of coral studs’. Thence by descent to Henry Harpur-Crewe (1921-91) and transferred with Calke Abbey and its contents to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of Capital Transfer Tax in 1985 with an endowment provided by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
