A set of gold buttons and dress studs dating from around 1880. The set comprises five buttons and three smaller dress studs of a plaited knot design, all within an original fitted case.

This set was present at Calke Abbey by1886, when it was described in the inventory of the family jewel case as a 'set of twisted gold buttons & studs' (Derbyshire Record Office, D22375/H/F/2/27).
Provenance
Set made around 1880 and present at Calke Abbey by 1886, when it was described in the inventory of the family jewel case as a ‘set of twisted gold buttons & studs’. Thence by descent to Henry Harpur-Crewe (1921-91) and transferred with Calke Abbey and its contents to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of Capital Transfer Tax in 1985 with an endowment provided by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
