Summary
Brooch, part of an Egyptian Revival gold Demi-Parure, c. 1870. Brooch designed as the head of an Egyptian Pharaoh, the face carved in high relief from dark brown agate mounted in a bright yellow 18 carat gold locket-backed frame decorated with beading, raised vertical bars and twisted wirework highlights.
Provenance
Calke Abbey and contents transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
