Summary
A mid 19th century mantel clock, ormolu with white marble base. Made by E and E Emanuel of Portsea, with exposed escapement. Large second dial with smaller hour dial inside. Underneath three subsidiary dials for day of the week and month (two with a hand missing). The cast ormolu case has birds in trellis work panels down the sides, either side of the marble panels. Leafy trellis work across ther bottom where the case joins the base. Ormolu scrolled vine work form the four feet. The clock surmounted by the two ormolu cherubs, one with a globe, the other with a wheel and hammer. Brass back plate. The clock mounted on an oval black wooden base with red velvet lining, glass dome.
