Summary
Similar globe to 1763a but celestial, inscribed; 'Johnston's celestial globe/containing all the principal stars...from the works of/Wollaston, Flamsted, De La Caille, Havelius, Maver, Bradley, Herschel, Maskelyne/the transactions of the Astronomical Society of London'. The vertical metal ring is not marked, the horizontal wooden ring is inscribed with the months and signs of the zodiac. A compass is fitted under the base between the three S-curve legs on castors.
