Summary
Serpentine fronted cabinet with white marble top, the sides and doors painted with panels after Angelica Kauffman. A Wedgwood jaspar plaque (of circa 1830) is set into the centre of the frieze. There are rectangular panels either side on the slightly protruding front section, and panels on the curved side frieze. These are edged with giltmetal beading and painted in polychrome oils with garlands of naturalistic flowers. The lower panels have similar giltmetal edging, the two outer panels round and the two doors oval. Painted columns either side of the doors have naturalistic columbines up them, growing from a pot, and the feet are tapered and squared inlaid with reeding. Tulipwood cross-banding edges all the panels. The painted panel depict (left to right); i) Venus and two bacchanale; ii) The three graces dancing; iii) The three graces in a harvest scene; iv) A mother and child. Mahognay interior with one shelf.
