Summary
An upholstered painted and giltwood prie-dieu or prayer chair, English, circa 1850. With padded top rail, back and seat flanked by twist turned supports and raised on moulded cabriole legs and castors. Upholstered in a floral patterned embroidery with beadwork.
Provenance
Calke Abbey and contents transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
