Summary
A walnut and mahogany glass topped display case, rectangular, resting on four bun feet. Hinged top, small inlaid boxwood triangle around the keyhole. Inside a collection of ojects de virtue collected by Sir Vauncey Harpur Crewe, including; coins, seals, semi precious stones, crucifix, Wedgwood cameo, mother-of-pearl case, silver thimble, paper knife made from the wood of H.M.S. Victory 1805, objects numbering 54 in all. An accompanying note reads, 'Calke Abbey, August 12th 1908, not to be touched, V.H. Crewe'.
