Summary
Mahogany double-sided apothecary's cabinet in box form with 30+ separate components . Four shaped bracket feet. Swan neck brass handle either end. The hinged top lifts to reveal compartments containing brass lidded bottles. One section contains brass weights. Hinged door on the front reveals more compartments for bottles and seven small drawers with small brass rings. The top drawers are divided into lidded compartments. Hinged door on the back with eight compartments some with bottles. (Damaged). Labels on the various items in the cabinet; 3 large bottles, 'Cheltenham Salts', 'Phosphate of Soda', and the third contains white powdery substance 'Prepared Sulphur dose, a small teaspoonful in a cup of milk'. 4 small bottles with glass stoppers; 'Solution to rub the back', 'No. 21 Fryars Balsam', 'Tinct. Gentian. R. Jones chemist and druggist, Iron Gate Derby'. Fourth contains red liquid 'Compound of Spirit of Lavender'. Various powders; 'Fever Powder', Tartar Emetic', Dovers Powders', 'Powder Myrrh', 'Powder of Ipecacuan', Cream of Tartar', and 'Ipecacuanha'. Many say the measurements of how many grains should be taken and some still contain packets of the substances. Two drawers have labels; 'sennae leaves', and 'Powder of Colanba'. Med. glass bottles x 2 one without a label; other reads 'opening draughts, Lady Crewe' and contains a brown liquid.
