Watercolour on paper, Sir Vauncey Harpur Crewe 10th Bt. (1846-1924) as a Baby by Marie Françoise Catherine (Fanny) Corbaux (1812 – Brighton 1883), signed 'Fanny Corbaux/1847'. The baby has a very large head in comparison with its tiny hands and feet in small black shoes. He wears a white dress with a blue sash and ribbons. Mounted on paper inscribed 'Jour a droite'. In a gilt double moulded frame inscribed on the reverse 'Vauncey Harpur Crewe/taken in Oct 1847/ when he was a year old'. Inscribed 'Selina Lovell'. Printed label of 'H. Moseley & Co./Carver & Gilder Derby'.
