Summary
Watercolour on paper, Boats and ships in an estuary, after Willem van der Velde the younger (Leyden 1633 – London 1707). A ship is back left, boats with sails in the centre and a small rowing boat in the foreground. Large area in the sky above in Dutch style. Initials 'WVV' lower right. Deep gilt gesso frame with shaped inner edges with relief design. Shells are the centre sides and at the corners with foliage around them. 'Isabel Mosley' inscribed on the back.
