Watercolour and bodycolour on paper, Mary Adeline Crewe (1834-1930) by Ann Mary Newton (Rome 1832 – London 1866). Half-length portrait of a young woman signed, 'Mary Severn Feb. 1854'. The sitter has dark hair, braided with pearls, and blue eyes. She is shown side view, leaning on a balustrade, a pink shawl drawn around her. Mounted on card. See CAL/D/999
