Summary
One of a pair of coloured lithographs 'Drawn by an officer of distinction,' and printed by Clark and Dubourg, published by E. Orme, 1811.Entitled 'Two Pictural Plans of the town and post of Santarem in Portugal, occupied by the French under Marshal Massena, March 1811.' The print shows a view of Santarem from the opposite bank of the Tagus. Fortresses are built on the tops of small steep hills with white houses clustered below and troops on the river bank. Plate mark.
