Summary
Etching, William of Wykeham (1324-1404) Bishop of Winchester by Charles Grignion the elder (London 1717 – Kentish Town 1810). 'Taken from the most ancient picture of him preserved in Winchester College'. He is shown full length wearing bishop's cape and mitre and holding a crook. He stands within an arched niche, the inscription in a frame of shellwork and scrolled foliage at the base, three cherubs heads around it. Cut to the edge, stained.
