Summary
Etching, Seven Sacraments: The Sacrament of the Last Blessing (after Pietro Longhi) by Marco Alvise Pitteri (Venice 1702 - Venice 1786). Entitled 'Extreme Unctionis Sacramentum'. Showing a priest giving an old man a post-mortem prayer, the last sacrament by his side. A kneeling woman each side of the bed weeps and another kneels before a crucifix. Cut to plate mark, n.b. CAL/D/783 and 4, 788 - 790 with cut edges.
