Summary
Etching, The Seven Sacraments: The Sacrament of Confession (after Pietro Longhi) by Marco Alvise Pitteri (Venice 1702 - Venice 1786). Showing a priest hearing confession, the front of his box open and various draped ladies queueing to speak to him. In the foreground a kneeling woman in black contrasts with a woman in white behind. (Probably by M.Pitteri after Petru Longhi - see D/785). Edges cut, mounted on card with printed paper edging applied.
