Summary
Print, engraving The Remains of the Senatorial Bridge, upon the Tyber, now called Ponte Rotto, (after Thomas Smith of Derby after Giovanni Battista Busiri) by (François) Francis Vivarès (Montpellier 1709 –London 1780). Broken bridge across the centre, three arches still crossing a river. To the right are Italiante buildings with two rowing boats on the river below and several figures walking or fishing on the near bank. A tree frames the left side of the picture and in the foreground are classical stone fragments. Cut to edge and mounted on card.
