Summary
An illuminated address to Sir John Harpur and Lady Crewe on the occasion of their son attaining his majority. From tenants of Smisby, Derbyshire. Hand painted by Bemrose and Sons of Derby (inventory card states 'Bennrose'). Signed at the bottom with 30 names. In a gilt wood and gesso frame. The outside corners moulded with acorns and oak leaves, which surround a shield at the top. The inside edge also has a frieze of oak.
Provenance
Transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
