Summary
Watercolour on paper, Two ladies on a terrace by Marie Françoise Catherine (Fanny) Corbaux (1812 – Brighton 1883). c.1850. Arched top. The lady in the foreground sits in a high backed chair, one foot on a red footstool a book in her lap and an elbow resting on a table. Behind her stands the other lady with one hand resting on a gold box. Behind them the terrace wall and seascape. In a gilt wood and gesso frame with moulded border of arabesque designs.
Provenance
Transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury in lieu of CTT in 1985 with an endowment provided by the NHMF.
