Summary
Watercolour on paper, Two children on a terrace, possibly Sir Vauncey Harpur Crewe 10th Bt. (1846-1924) and his sister Alice Georgiana Harpur Crewe (1847-1920), by Marie Françoise Catherine (Fanny) Corbaux (1812 – Brighton 1883). c.1850. Arched top. The girl who is dressed in white sits on the terrace wall her feet on a green covered stool, draped with a hat and shawl. The boy, standing, is dressed in purple and holds the girls hand with one hand and carries a hat and riding crop in the other. His right foot rests on a red covered foot stool. Behind the children is a landscape. In a gilt wood and gesso frame with moulded border of arabesque designs.
