Summary
Print, mezzotint, Rutger Jan Schimmelpenninck (1761-1825) by Charles Howard Hodges (London 1764 – Amsterdam 1837). Full-length portrait engraved in the Netherlands after C.H. Hodges in 1806. The sitter, Rutger Jan Schimmelpenninck is shown wearing ceremonial robes; a velvet cloak lined with satin, with a satin cummerband and lace cravat. His hat crowned with plumes is on a table beside him and behind is a drape over classical architecture. In an ebonised reeded frame with gilt inner edge.
