Summary
Print, engraving, Sabrina (after William Edward Frost) by Peter Lightfoot (1805-1885). An arch-topped print, published by the Art Union of London, 1849. The picture illustrates a verse by Comus and is entitled 'Sabrina'. Sabrina lies gracefully dead in the centre, surrounded by water nymphs and pondweed. In an ebonised moulded frame with gilt inner edge inscribed;- 'The water nymphs that in the bottom played Held up their pearled wrists and took her in Bearing her straight to aged Nereus' hall'.
