Summary
Watercolour on paper, Princess Charlotte Augusta, Princess of Wales (1796-1817) after George Dawe RA (London 1781 – Kentish Town 1829). Bust-length oval portrait of a lady wearing a garland of pale pink roses around her head. She is shown three-quarter view in neo-classic style. Her hair is worn up, with a few curls around her temples beneath a black head band. Her dress has a wide decollete band across the shoulders and bust, with lace above and a blue dress below. A red drape is shown behind left. Probably c.1800.
