Summary
An illuminated manuscript headed in blue and red ink; 'To Vauncey Harpur Crewe Esquire' and with an inscription congratulating the above on attaining his majority. Signed by the inhabitants of Smisby, Derbs. in red ink. Decorated with a band of vertical leaf decoration at the left side and red lines framing the other sides. In a gilt gesso frame with oak leaves at the corners and a band around the frame. An escutcheon at the top is framed by oak leaves.
