Three-quarter length portrait of an officer named Major General Lovell, K.H., engraved by G.T. Payne after T.W. Mackay. Published by Thomas McLean London. The officer wears full dress uniform and holds a bearskin in his right hand, his sword in his left hand. In the background a battle is shown. Inscribed on the back 'Vauncey Harpur Crewe/Oct 14th/1854'. In a gilt frame with gesso corner decoration. Framed by Henry Moseley, Derby. See also CAL/PH/170.
