Summary
Print, lithograph, German Symposium by W. Hess. One of a set of three lithographs called 'German Symposium' by W. Hess. These are mainly character studies of groups of intellectuals. Third of the three lithographs. ANother very busy scene full of charaters sitting and standing around tables and discussing. There is a large tree in front of a building on the right-hand sideof the picture. In the foreground a gentleman plays a guitar. In the centre of the picture is a large black dog. Signed W. Hess, Bonn 1849. Good margin . Tattered edges.
