Summary
Print, lithograph, German Symposium by W. Hess. One of a set of three lithographs called 'German Symposium' by W. Hess. These are mainly character studies of groups of intellectuals. Second of the three lithographs. A very busy scene full of characters, nearly all male, drinking and talking around two tables. To the left-hand side of the picture is a building and in the distance a landscape with towers. Signed W. Hess 1841. Good Margin. Tattered edges.
