Print, colour aquatint, H.M. Sloop El Vincego. Taken in the Bay of Quiberon, on 8th May 1804 (after C. Hiller) by John Clark (fl. 1775-1825). One of a pair of coloured aquatints of the sloop El Vincego. Captured by the French in May 1804. Engraved by I. Clark after a drawing by C. Hiller, late master of H.M. Sloop El Vincego. (a) Shows a quiet scene with the ship moored off some rocks, land and other moored ships in the distance. In the foreground an enormous outcrop of rock in the water and a rowing boat full of men. Inscription reads, 'First view of H.M. Sloop El Vincego, I.W. Wright, Esq. Commander. Taken in the Bay of Quiberon, on 8th May 1804'. Wide margins.
