Print, coloured aquatint, 'The Queen of Trumps', winner of the Oak Stakes at Epsom, 1835 and the winner of the Great St. Leger Stakes at Doncaster 1835 (after John Frederick Herring the elder) by Charles Hunt Snr (1803-1877). 'The Queen of Trumps', a mounted dark brown horse with three white feet, standing facing right in a landscape in front of a fence. By C. Hunt after J.F. Herring. Inscription reads; 'Won the oak stakes (the winner of the Gt. St. Leger stakes at Doncaster 1835) at Epsom 1835, 67 subscribers, 11 started. She was bred in 1832 by the Hon. E.M.L. Mostyn MP, got by Velocipede out of Princess Royal (bred in 1818 by Sir T. Mostyn) by Castrel out of Queen of Diamonds, by Diamond, her Dam by Sir Peter. The property of the Hon E.M.L. Mostyn MP, riden by T. Lye'. Dedicated by J.F. Herring and S. [and] J. Fuller, published London 1835. Wide margin.
