Summary
Print, coloured aquatint, 'Cadland', the Winner of the Derby Stakes at Epsom 1828 (after John Frederick Herring the elder ) by Richard Gilson Reeve (London 1803 – 1889). Cadland', a mounted brown horse, facing left, standing in a landscape. A white post and some distant fiqures on the righthand side. By R.G. Reeve after J.F. Herring. Inscription reads; 'The Winner of the Derby Stakes at Epsom 1828, 89 subscribers, 15 started. Was got by Andrew son of Orville, his dam sorcery by sorcerer out of Cobbea. The property of his Grace the Duke of Rutland'. Dedicated by J.F. Herring and S. [and] J. Fuller, publishers, London July 15th 1828. Print has been cut.
