Print, coloured aquatint, Conflagration of Moscow, seen from the Kremlin after Giovanni (John) Vendramini (Bassano 1769 - London 1839). An early 19th century coloured aquatint 'Conflagration of Moscow, seen from the Kremlin' after J. Vendramini, published Nov. 5th 1812 in London. The scene shows a general view of burning roof-tops, with soldiers on foot and horseback moving to new positions in the centre of the picture. Inscription reads, 'Conflagration of Moscow, seen from the Kremlin, on the entrance of the French army, the 14th September 1812.' One inch margin.
