Summary
Watercolour, pastel and gouache on paper, Parrot and Wineglass by Hitchman. A parrot standing by a wine glass. It has its head to the right and is brighlty coloured with a white head, red breast and blue wings. The inscription on the back reads, 'A parrot brought home by Richard from Australia, drawn by our butler Hitchman, I.J.C.' Another inscription underneath reads, 'lived at Calke for many years in the Hosuekeeper's room at Calke, got out one day, was crushed in being got down from a tree - M.C.C.'
