Summary
1 of a pair of fire extinguishing grenades. Each has a circular reeded body with a moulded star and a ridge wround the middle, onto which are moulded the words, 'FIRE EXTINGUISHER, HARDEN STAR HAND GRENADE'. The bottles have short necks and flat tops. A red label around the neck reads, 'How to use, throw the grenade into the hottest part of the fire.' Each bottle is filled with a clear liquid which is Carbon Tetra-Chloride (CCI 4). The description in the Butlers Pantry notes says the contents are 20% salt, 9% Ammonium Chloride and 71 % water.
