Summary
A large red clay salt container from Ticknall. A hole in the front, glazed inside, domed top, pierced with small holes, with a circular knob in the centre and two loop handles on the side. Accompanied by a note which reads; 'This collection of Ticknall pottery purchased by me from my Aunt, Miss Matilda Lovell, three years ago together with two Egyptian jars. Vauncey Harpur Crewe May 4th 1899'.
