Summary
A glazed and wood framed print of Robinson and Cleaver, Royal Irish Linen Warehouse, Donegall Place, Belfast. Drawn by Marcus Ward and Co. Ltd. of Belfast, 1889 and reproduced by the Linen Hall Library in 1984. The Belfast warehouse and department store of Robinson and Cleaver was set up in 1870. As well as supplying Queen Victoria and the Empress Frederick of Germany the company established an early mail order business and supplied linen world wide, as illustrated by the company's advertisement featured in the Mill Upper Floor interpretive exhibition (WBM069.jpg refers). The framed print was donated by Mr. Kyle Leyden, a former guide at Wellbrook Beetling Mill, c.1998.
