Summary
A wooden table loom with stick shuttle used to weave coarse linen in its first stage of manufacture before the fabric is bleached with acids (eg. animal urine). The loom is mounted onto a wooden table stand at the base of which is an attached board with four pierced metal pedals. A maker's label on the top horizontal bar of the loom is worn but the inital 'W' is visible. Next to it a second label records the donation of the loom by Tim and Barbara in Loving Memory of their mother CAROL GRANLEESE of Newtownards, Co. Down, c.1990.
