Summary
A wooden seed fiddle used for broadcasting flax seed. The fiddle has a canvas strap, red painted seed box, hessian seed bag and a metal distributor wheel. A bow of wood and leather at the front of the seed fiddle is moved by hand from side to side to distribute the seed from the tray. The maker's details are stamped in ink on the side of the red box - THE 'PERFECTION' SEED SOWER MADE ONLY BY JAMES A GIBSON (.......?) COMBER N IRELAND. A brass plate on the seed box records details of the donation by Mr. A. Agnew of Timaconway, Kilrea.
