Folded letter, handwritten in ink, dated; May 25th 1820. To; Mrs Edwards. From; ...Thomas.
Full description
May 25th 1820 My Dear Mrs Edwards I did not answer your letter as I flattered myself with the hope of meeting you yesterday at Richard’s [?] but that was impossible & I therefore take up my pen to thank you for your kind invitation & to say that we are fully determined to pay you a visit on our way from London. If nothing interferes to prevent us we purpose being with you to dinner on Sunday, & shall much like to go with you on Monday to Lord [?] whence we can proceed for Arley. I trust that on Saturday evening I shall know for a certainty whether business will detain us in London the Monday, & I will write by that nights post. I flatter myself that when you move into Staffordshire you will not forget that Arley has claims on Mr Butts & his family & that I shall have the pleasure of seeing you there. Tho he has a very fine collection of plants, I think I can offer you some additions to your new garden. Believe me My dear Mrs Edwards Yours ever faithfully, Mount Thomas [?] [On reverse] Lord Valentine Earl Mount Thomas [?] & Lady Annabel [?]
